All this leads us to the question of legality. Rooting is actually overcoming of some technological protections, so it falls under the laws that talk about circumventing of digital locks. Open your computer and download the necessary USB drivers for your phone. The drivers come with your device. If you lost it, you could get them from the official website of Samsung.
Get your Samsung Galaxy S3 and go to its Settings menu. Then, tap General and touch About Phone. Among the options provided, tap the Software information. It’s just below the Hardware information or above Legal information.

The system used for the root is what we’ve seen on other Samsung handsets. Through the use of Odin we are going to install the CF Auto root.

– Extract the ZIP package to CF Auto root file .tar.md5 and place it in a folder to which you have easy access.
– Run the program Odin 3:09 privileges administrator.
– Turn off the USB debugging mode and turn it back into download mode (by holding down the volume down + home button and then press power button) Now you should see a sign “Warning”. Use the volume up key to enter the download mode.
– Now connect the smartphone via USB cable to your PC, you should see the port ID: COM change color (as shown opposite), and in the box under the heading “Added”.
– Once the smartphone has been approved, you can click on the “AP” (PDA) and then select the file .tar.md5 extracted earlier.
– Once added, make sure that sprouted among the options are selected only “Auto Reboot” and “F. Reset Time “. Now start the root by clicking on “Start” and wait for it to end.
Congratulations! You have just rooted your Galaxy S6 . Soon, we will see how to install the Custom Recovery, which is necessary for the installation of custom ROMs and other tweaks.
Galaxy S6 is definitely the most difficult device to root, so with that being said, prepare for some information overload, and technical nerdism terms!
Install the Android SDK
The first step has nothing to do directly with your Samsung. If you want to install the Android SDK.
Allow ADB Access
Once the SDK is installed on your computer, navigate to the folder in Android [your username].
Edit the file adb_usb.ini, adding the following line of code at the end:

The Galaxy S6 is the latest Samsung phablet and part of the line “S” is associated with the idea of constant expansion. Improving its predecessor in almost every way, the device is a very powerful machine and a wonderful productivity tool. . The Galaxy S6 root has been possible for some time, however, this would result in KNOX Samsung.
Now, thanks to a clever work of recognized XDA developer designers along with the help of Elite Recognized Developer Chainfire and an “anonymous source”, which provided “some hook ups” that have managed mode root de la Vega. With this package, you can root the stock firmware and revert to a previous firmware without activating the Knox flags.
Root of the Vega, which was named after AT & T Mobility CEO Ralph de la Vega, was originally designed for the AT & T variant of the device. Now, however, this works for Active versions. Senior Member kal87 reported that this also works with Verizon variants. Unlike the first method shown CF-Root, Root of Vega Knox maintains the counter to 0 × 0, so that your operator or Samsung will not know that the Galaxy S6 has been changed before.
Check your AP and checking CSC since Dialer * # 1234 # and based on this, download your AP and CSC, If not on the list, wait until it is released to avoid bricking the device.

This basic guide is no different than any other Galaxy S6 root, but you need to download another software package. From Odin, you’ll need to use the Odin3 version 1.85. For the appropriate root firmware you first need to know which version of the Galaxy S6 you are running on. Navigate to the settings on the phone info tab and scroll down to the build number. The combination of letters and numbers after the dot is important so that you download the correct CF-kernel. Then navigate to the XDA thread in and look at the bottom posts by Chainfire to see the download entries that corresponds to your build number. For the build number IML74K.XX <§§B> LPQ <§§B> You need the file CF-Root-SGS6_XX_XEO_ <§§B> LPQ <§§B> -v5.3-CWM5.zip. Download the appropriate kernel and unpack the zip archive only once, so you will get a file with the extension: .tar.
Download now from the Samsung website under the appropriate software version tab and select the correct one and then install it via the USB drivers of your Galaxy S6.
Now start Odin and press the PDA button. Select the downloaded tar file and make sure that the checkbox re-partition is not active. Now move it down and restart it by holding down the hotkey [Lower] + [Home] + [Power] until the S6 switches to the download mode. Confirm the security prompt with [Loud]. Now you can connect your phone via USB cable to the computer. If everything worked, the entry ID lights: COM upper left yellow. Click Start, so Odin starts with importing the kernel.
Disconnect the connection to the PC until the boot process is complete and the PIN prompt will appear!
After the successful flash process the message PASS appears in the Odin window. From now on your Galaxy S6 is rooted!
To reset the device, an USB Jig is required. This hardware tool is available for four to ten USD on Amazon or Ebay.
Custom Binary Counter Reset:
In the first place please download the original bootloader file. Here you must flash an older bootloader, because Samsung has made it impossible for newer versions, the Custom Binary Counter to reset. Then you load the appropriate firmware for your SGS6 down.
Now you need to put your Galaxy S6 in download mode. This is done as explained in the rooting tutorial via holding down the key combination [Lower] + [Home] + [Power]. The security question you answer by pressing the [Volume].
Subsequently, you can also start Odin and connect it via USB to the computer. In the Odin window you should now see ID: COM light yellow. Extract the boot loader file and select the tar file in Odin as PDA. Next, confirm the start and wait until the device restarts again. Then turn it off again and plug the USB Jig in the Micro USB port. The S6 now boots into download mode. If everything worked, you should now be under Custom Binary Download and the entry should say NO. Now remove the USB Jig and reboot the phone.
Open Odin and reboot the device again as described above in the download mode. Then connect it to the computer, so that ID: COM in Odin lights up. Now unpack the downloaded firmware file (once). Select Odin PIT .pit the file in the PDA CODE? File in the PHONE MODEM? File and the CSC? MULTI-CSC? File. It may be that your firmware does not receive all four files. Simply assign the existing files to it.
Now start the flash process by clicking on Start and wait until it is finished with PASS. My Galaxy S6 is now back in its original condition by doing this.
So before you start with the rooting for 4.4.2 or 4.4.4 process, make sure that you always have the correct drivers installed. So both the drivers of your smartphone or table should be installed, as well as the ADB drivers. Find that by looking for the Android SDK. It also contains the required ADB drivers. After installing the drivers, you should check whether you have enabled USB debugging on the phone. If not, do this in in the developer options settings. (Also see the requirements of rooting Galaxy S6)
Now plug out the phone from the USB port of the computer for around 5 seconds, then push it back in. Now download the software and start it up. Afterwards it should be executing the menu item from the software.
The “ALLINONE” option makes the root patch in one go a completely. So hit it.
Now the Galaxy S6 root gets to the final stage. Open the toolkit, select the second root / unroot Option and then select the entry from the third ALLINONE, it automatically installs an alternative to the recovery so you can start installing custom ROMs and it also contains a hidden root tool for controlling root access on your mobile phone.
The toolkit provides you with two options to choose from in both the recovery, as well as in the root tool. You can choose out of the proven ClockworkMod Recovery or the more modern TWRP Touch Recovery, it’s all up to you, we’d like to choose for ClockWorkMod, so we can definitely recommend you to use that.
Also in Root Manager it is more a matter of taste whether to superuser or SuperSU, it really does not matter an awful lot, but we find the modern SuperSU better.
So back to the software, the Rootkit explained in detail what is to be selected in Odin3 of options.
The toolkit now starts the Odin3 tool to install the patched boot and recovery partitions and also shows you the same information on what to do. Read the text extremely carefully as always, if you do 1 thing wrong you might end up with a brick!
To better see how Odin3 will work, I suggest to take a look at a root 4.4.4 resource as you’ll be seeing what odin3 version to use. As there are several versions available. If you’re having any problems right now, then definitely check it out.
Turn off your Galaxy S6 and restart it in download mode.
Now pay attention to the fact that in Odin3 only the options Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked. Also select under PDA from the directory root \ within the installation folder of the toolkit the file boot-insecure-dlk7-recovery-from N7100.tar. Make sure at this point that you please click on the “recovery” in the file name, there is this directory that contains an image file without this addition, which does not contain a recovery image.
Click on Start which leads the rooting process to be done in an automated way. The message will appear in the phone display between “Downloading … Do not turn of target !!”, take the warning seriously and please turn on the phone at this stage
in no circumstances otherwise, there is a risk that you will only be able to use your phone as a doorstop.
If you have installed the recovery image by mistake, then take it as under 5 Flash Custom Recovery. Was again under PDA select the desired Recovery (we recommend TWRP), wait to start Odin3 and follow the instructions then again in the text of the Toolkit window. The image file recovery-TWRP-184.108.40.206-N7100.tar you will be able to find this time in recovery subfolder.
After restarting the phone, the critical part of the installation of the open bootloader and free recovery system is over and the toolkit automatically plays the one remaining components of the complete root patches. at the
End of the phone will again reboot.
In the App Drawer, you should now with SuperSU have an additional app to control root access, so that you can use in the future root apps like AdBlock or awall + on your mobile phone. In addition, you land from now on automatically powerful TWRP recovery mode when you turn the phone off and on via the key combination [Loud] + [Power] + [Home] again.
Custom ROMs make sense?
Away from the root privileges on the phone, it is available now free via TWRP a custom ROM for the S6 to install. On XDA Developers  is a list with more than 20 different ROMs for the device, including the classic
CyanogenMod is here – even if not in an unofficial version – represented.

Note devices. Search therefore better one of the TW-Based ROM from which to install based on TouchWiz other features in the S6-ROM.
– Make a backup.
– Download and unzip the archive signed by Chainfire: CF-Auto-Root-hammerhead-hammerhead-s6.zip.
– Put your smartphone into recovery mode: turn it off and then on again with these buttons pressed simultaneously: Volume Up + Volume Down + Power.
– Connect your smartphone to the computer via USB.
– Go to the unzipped folder.
– Run the root-file windows.bat
– Open a terminal, go to the unzipped folder.
– Type the command chmod + x root-mac.sh.
– Run the file root-mac.sh.
– Open an SSH window and go to the folder.
– Type the command chmod + x root-linux.sh.
– Run the file root-linux.sh.
And voila, your Samsung Galaxy S6 is Rooted!
Removing the root of Galaxy S6
– Make a backup of your device.
– Download and unzip the file system image of the Galaxy S6 previously reported in the adb folder.
– Run the flash file via a terminal all.bat.
– Once finished, select your Galaxy S6 Recovery Mode with the volume buttons and press the power button to confirm.
– Then select wipe data / factory reset option.
– Select Reboot now.
And now your Galaxy S6, is as fresh as an out of the box smartphone.
